The short answer

Walk, don't run, while the infant car seat is attached: it is written into the manuals of 4 strollers. 10 of the 11 jogging strollers we track take an infant seat, most of them with an adapter.

Pick your stroller below for what its maker says.

What catches parents out

  1. Never run with the infant seat attached: it is written into the manuals of 4 strollers

BOB Alterrain Pro, BOB Revolution Flex 3.0, UPPAbaby Ridge (original), UPPAbaby Ridge V2

    What the maker says
    • “Always jog with the stroller seat in the fully upright position. Jogging with the seat in reclined positions may result in a loss of stability. Never jog with infant car seat attached.” BOB manual (PDF)
    • “No. You should not jog with an infant car seat attached to the Ridge. Jogging is intended for a child in the Ridge seat only.” UPPAbaby help article
  2. The front wheel has a jog mode and a walk mode, and it matters which one is on

    BOB Wayfinder

    What the maker says
    • How do I lock the Wayfinder front wheel for jogging (or unlock it for walking)?: Find the locking switch near the front wheel. For jog mode, flip the switch toward the front of the stroller. For walk mode, flip it toward the back. Check the front wheel is locked before you jog. BOB help article
  3. Big wheels don't make it a jogger: one maker says its stroller is not for running

    Baby Jogger City Mini GT2

    What the maker says
    • “Supports children up to 65 lb Limited lifetime manufacturer's warranty on frame Meets Disney size requirements Stroller is not intended for jogging ... From birth to 65 pounds” Baby Jogger product page (archived copy)
  4. The tire pressure isn't the number on the rim: 2 makers give their own

Baby Jogger products, BOB Revolution Flex 3.0

    What the maker says
    • How much air should go in my Baby Jogger tires?: Baby Jogger says to inflate to 20 PSI. Stick to 20 PSI even if the rim says up to 40 PSI. A standard bicycle pump works. Baby Jogger help article
    • How much air should I put in my Revolution Flex 3.0 tires?: The plastic wheels are rated for a maximum of 30 psi. The maximum pressure is also printed on the wheel next to the valve stem. BOB says to check tire pressure before every use. BOB manual (PDF)
