How to use the Stokke YOYO²
Step-by-step guides from the maker's manual. Pick one.
Fold
- 1Pull the stroller back a little so both front wheels point straight, facing outward.
- 2Put the brake on so the frame stays still, and check the wheels still face outward.
- 3Press both handlebar buttons at once and fold the handle down against the frame (it does not lock there).
- 4Reach under the handle to the bottom of the frame, press and hold the white button on the red/orange bracket, and pull the bracket toward you until it clicks; then let go.
- 5Grip the folded handlebar together with the central metal bar and lift the stroller by them so it folds; if a wheel catches, straighten it.
- 6With the wheels facing outward (you can see the white plastic parts above the front wheels), latch the fold hook under the frame onto the central metal bar.
- 7Carry it by the shoulder strap with the wheels facing out and the handle toward you.
- If you are walking with your child while carrying the folded stroller, keep your child on the side away from the stroller.

Common problems with the Stokke YOYO²
- Pull the stroller back a little so both front wheels point straight and outward, then put the brake on.
- Press the two buttons on the handlebar together and fold the handle down against the frame (it does not lock there).
- Reach under the frame, press and hold the white button on the red/orange bracket, and pull the bracket toward you until it clicks; then let go.
- Grab the folded handlebar and the central metal bar together and lift; the frame folds. If a wheel catches, turn it straight again.
- With the wheels facing outward, hook the fold hook under the frame onto the central metal bar.
- Check the front wheels: they must face outward, so you can see the white springs on the front wheel legs.
- If you cannot see the white parts, the wheels are turned the wrong way. Do not press harder, or you may break the armrest.
- Turn the wheels straight and outward, then latch the fold hook again.
- Make sure no fabric is in the way of the lock. The carry strap is the most common culprit.
- Check the folding mechanism for anything stuck inside; repair partners have found toys, gummy bears and pebbles in there.
- Never force the lock closed; that can cause permanent damage. If you cannot find the cause, contact Stokke.
- In North America the YOYO uses the Car Seat Adapter L.
- Stokke says the product page for the adapters on its own website is the only up-to-date list of compatible seats.
- A seat missing from that list has either been tested and does not fit, fits but was not approved for safety or wear reasons, or has not been tested yet.
- From the factory the joints point down and are stiff until the grease inside spreads. Do one joint at a time.
- Push a bare canopy wire (no fabric on it) into the joint.
- Put your thumb against the round joint and, with the same hand, wrap your fingertips around the wire a few centimeters below where it goes in.
- Pull the wire back toward the handle. It takes more force than you might expect the first time.
- Before fitting the canopy, turn each joint all the way around a few times with the same grip so it moves smoothly later.
- The 6+ Color Pack is only fabric: the canopy and the seat pad.
- The 6+ canopy wires, the 6+ seat base with its harness, and the backrest came in the box with the YOYO frame itself, so look for them there.
- If they are lost, Stokke sells them as spare parts on its website.
- Simple parts such as wheels or handles can be swapped by the owner.
- Do not take apart the central parts of the frame; Stokke says that is too risky. Contact Stokke first.
- Repairs by the owner or an unauthorized shop void the Stokke warranty. If still in warranty, use Stokke's Warranty & Claims form.
- Depending on the product it has a serial number, a batch number or a clock symbol.
- Open Stokke's Warranty & Claims form and pick your product category and type from the dropdowns; it shows a picture of where the number is. You do not have to submit a claim to use it.
