Common problems with the Maxi-Cosi Mico (older models)
- Maxi-Cosi's Care Center can replace the cover.
- Call them at (800) 951-4113.
- Look for a sticker on the side of the seat shell; on infant car seats it can be on the bottom instead.
- The sticker is marked "Manufactured in" or "Model # / Manufacture Date".
- The model number starts with 22, CC, BC or IC and ends with a short color code.
- The date is usually written month/day/year. Have both ready before you contact Maxi-Cosi.
- Turn the seat over and look at the bottom.
- The expiration date is printed into the plastic of the seat itself, not on the paper sticker.
- Find the model number and manufacturing date on the sticker on the side of the seat.
- Have them ready when you call Maxi-Cosi Consumer Relations.
- They use these details to send you the right parts approved for your exact seat.
- The fabrics can go in the washing machine and the dryer.
- Wipe plastic, vinyl and metal parts with a damp sponge or cloth.
- Clean the harness with mild soap and water.
- Wipe only the outside of the buckle with a damp cloth. Do not oil it or put it in water.
- No bleach, harsh chemicals or dry cleaning: they can damage the seat.
- No. The base is an accessory; the infant seat can be installed without it.
- In narrow vehicle seats, or on a plane, you may get a more secure fit without the base.
- There is no single required travel position.
- Any position works as long as the handle is locked in it.
- Find the expiration date on the seat.
- Dates differ from seat to seat, so check yours rather than guessing.
- Once that date has passed, the seat is no longer approved for use.
