Reusing older parts
Second baby, or upgrading one piece: what carries over and what doesn't.
Will parts move between models?
- YOYO 6+ seat fabrics fit every YOYO frame; newborn-pack and bassinet textiles need a frame with the reversible backrest. Stokke help article
- The YOYO bassinet attaches to the YOYO3, YOYO2 and YOYO+ with the included adapters. Stokke help article
- All YOYO accessories fit the YOYO3 except the YOYO handlebar and wheels pack, and Stokke YOYO and older BABYZEN YOYO accessories are interchangeable. Stokke help article
- When folding a YOYO with car seat adapters, the top part of each adapter stays on the car seat and the lower part (white button) can stay on the stroller armrests. Stokke help article
Used or passed down
Check these before the first ride.
How do I hear about a recall?
- Stokke asks US owners to register products so it can reach them about safety alerts or recalls; you can also mail the card in the stroller box. Stokke product page
- The Stokke PIPA by Nuna car seat is registered with Nuna, not Stokke. Stokke product page
- Stokke has an online tool to check a YOYO3 serial number against its recall. Stokke help article
Care and warranty
Keeping it clean, and what the maker covers.
How do I clean it?
- All YOYO fabrics, including the basket and 6+ seat cover, come off and can be machine washed at 30 C (86 F). Stokke help article
What does the warranty cover?
- YOYO3 frames have a 2-year warranty, and registering the frame on stokke.com adds a third year (automatic if bought on stokke.com). YOYO2 and other YOYO products have 2 years. Stokke help article
- To register for Stokke's extended warranty you need the serial number and proof of purchase; both the regular and extended warranty need proof of purchase. Stokke help article
Step by step
Everyday use: strollers (fold, brake, recline)
Common Stokke problems and the maker's answers
- Pull the stroller back a little so both front wheels point straight and outward, then put the brake on.
- Press the two buttons on the handlebar together and fold the handle down against the frame (it does not lock there).
- Reach under the frame, press and hold the white button on the red/orange bracket, and pull the bracket toward you until it clicks; then let go.
- Grab the folded handlebar and the central metal bar together and lift; the frame folds. If a wheel catches, turn it straight again.
- With the wheels facing outward, hook the fold hook under the frame onto the central metal bar.
- Check the front wheels: they must face outward, so you can see the white springs on the front wheel legs.
- If you cannot see the white parts, the wheels are turned the wrong way. Do not press harder, or you may break the armrest.
- Turn the wheels straight and outward, then latch the fold hook again.
- Make sure no fabric is in the way of the lock. The carry strap is the most common culprit.
- Check the folding mechanism for anything stuck inside; repair partners have found toys, gummy bears and pebbles in there.
- Never force the lock closed; that can cause permanent damage. If you cannot find the cause, contact Stokke.
- In North America the YOYO uses the Car Seat Adapter L.
- Stokke says the product page for the adapters on its own website is the only up-to-date list of compatible seats.
- A seat missing from that list has either been tested and does not fit, fits but was not approved for safety or wear reasons, or has not been tested yet.
- The car seat adapters only fit the YOYO+ and later frames.
- The original YOYO frame that came before the YOYO+ is not on that list.
- From the factory the joints point down and are stiff until the grease inside spreads. Do one joint at a time.
- Push a bare canopy wire (no fabric on it) into the joint.
- Put your thumb against the round joint and, with the same hand, wrap your fingertips around the wire a few centimeters below where it goes in.
- Pull the wire back toward the handle. It takes more force than you might expect the first time.
- Before fitting the canopy, turn each joint all the way around a few times with the same grip so it moves smoothly later.
- The 6+ Color Pack is only fabric: the canopy and the seat pad.
- The 6+ canopy wires, the 6+ seat base with its harness, and the backrest came in the box with the YOYO frame itself, so look for them there.
- If they are lost, Stokke sells them as spare parts on its website.
- Depending on the product it has a serial number, a batch number or a clock symbol.
- Open Stokke's Warranty & Claims form and pick your product category and type from the dropdowns; it shows a picture of where the number is. You do not have to submit a claim to use it.
