Base with LATCH
Where it can go: Rear-facing only. Never in a seat with an active frontal airbag. Only on forward-facing vehicle seats, never side- or rear-facing seats. Do not use the lower anchor belt with the vehicle belt; do not fasten two connectors to one anchor bar. This base fits Mico Nxt, Mico AP, Mico 30 and Mico Max 30.
1Unhook the lower anchor connectors from the base by pressing the red button on each.
2Route the lower anchor belt through the base belt path, adjuster on the right side, without twisting it.
3Place the base rear-facing, centered between the vehicle anchors.
4Clip each connector (arrows up) onto the vehicle's lower anchors.
5Push the base down and back into the seat while pulling the free end of the belt tight.
6With your baby buckled in, click the car seat onto the base and check the level line.
Check it before you drive
Hold the base at the belt path and push side to side: it should not move more than 1 in. (2.5 cm).
Level line parallel with the ground; adjust the base (or a rolled towel or pool noodle under the front of the car seat) if not.
Pull up on the front corners of the car seat to make sure it is locked.
Retold from Maxi-Cosi manual (PDF). Your vehicle's manual also says which seats have LATCH anchors. When in doubt, a certified child passenger safety technician can check your install.
The carrier on and off the base
Clicking it onto the base

The maker warns: If the car seat is not securely attached to the base, it can result in serious injury or death.
