How to use the Graco SnugRide 35 Lite LX
Step-by-step guides from the maker's manual. Pick one.
Harness
- 1Loosen the straps: push down on the harness release lever while pulling the straps out at the chest clip, then open the chest clip and buckle.
- 2Sit your baby with their back flat against the seat and put the straps over their shoulders; the straps must come out at or just below the shoulders.
- 3Click both buckle tongues in and tug each one, then click the chest clip shut.
- 4Pull the slack up from around the waist on both sides, then pull the harness adjustment strap until you can't pinch any webbing at the shoulder.
- 5Slide the chest clip up to armpit level and recheck tightness.
- No snowsuits or bulky clothes under the harness; put a blanket over the buckled harness instead.
- Children have strangled in loose or partly buckled straps: fully buckle your child even outside the car.

Common problems with the Graco SnugRide 35 Lite LX
- Check that this seat and stroller are listed as compatible, and take your baby out before attaching the seat.
- Look for dirt or anything stuck in the stroller's attachment points and the seat's connectors.
- If your stroller needs adapters, make sure they are fitted correctly and fully secured.
- Take the seat off, press the release lever and check the latch plungers on both sides move freely; if one sticks, the seat can't lock on.
- Lower the seat straight down, facing the way the stroller manual says, until it clicks, then pull up gently to confirm. Don't use it until it is locked.
- Line the seat up with the base before lowering it in.
- Push down on the front of the seat and on the handle until you hear or feel a click, then pull up on the front corners to test it.
- Check the base itself is installed tightly and sits level as your manual describes.
- To take it out, squeeze the release handle on the back of the seat and lift straight up while holding it.
- If it still won't latch or release, don't force it; that can damage the latch. Contact Graco.
- Take out toys, blankets, cup holders or anything else that could be in the way.
- Put the seat, footrest and child tray (if it has one) in the right position for folding.
- Make sure no seat or canopy fabric is caught in the fold joints, and check the joints for dirt.
- Press the fold buttons, levers or handles all the way, on a flat surface, and try again.
- Don't force it closed; that can damage the stroller.
- Release the storage latch on the side of the stroller first; while it is engaged it keeps the stroller locked shut.
- Check no fabric or straps are caught in the frame, and clear any dirt around the joints.
- Stand it on flat, level ground and press the release buttons or levers fully, as your manual shows.
- Don't force it open.
- Put the buckle in a cup of warm water and swish it gently, pressing the red button several times while it's in the water.
- Don't put the buckle strap in the water, and don't use soap, detergent or lubricant.
- Shake out the water and let it air dry; repeat until it fastens with a click.
- Put the buckle back in the same slot it came from and pull up on it to check it is secure.
- Take the seat pad off and find the harness adjuster at the front of the seat.
- Vacuum out crumbs and small objects with the hand tool, then clear the grooves with a cotton swab.
- Buckle the harness, close the chest clip and tighten it.
- Pull the straps toward you without touching the release lever; they should not loosen.
- Both are printed on the serial number label.
- On traditional strollers, look on the rear leg or under the footrest.
- On umbrella strollers, look on the X-shaped tubes under the seat.
- It is also listed on the product page at gracobaby.com and in the owner's manual.
- Graco stamps the expiration information into the bottom or back of each seat, as a "Do Not Use After" date.
- Seats expire six to ten years after they were made, depending on the model.
- Check the date of manufacture on the white serial number label on the seat.
- Graco recommends replacing the seat on or before that date.
