How to install the Cybex Cloud G Lux
Cybex gives 4 ways to put it in the car, with the base and without it, so a taxi or a second car works without another base.
Steps retold from Cybex's manual. The manual that came with your seat is the one to follow.

How to install the Cybex Cloud G Lux in the car
Pick how you're putting it in. Each way is from the maker's manual.
Base with LATCH
Where it can go: Rear-facing only, on forward-facing vehicle seats; never on a front seat with an active airbag. If all load leg requirements cannot be met, choose another seating position or install the carrier without the base; the base may also be installed with the load leg folded under it if necessary. Center seat: inner lower anchors only if exactly 11 in (28 cm) apart.
- Take the Rigid LATCH out of storage, and unfold the load leg from under the base.
- Position the base on a rear vehicle seat.
- Press the two buttons on the sides of the Rigid LATCH to fully extend the connectors, then click both onto the lower anchors and pull firmly to check.
- Adjust the leveling foot so the level indicator shows the correct range for your child's weight, and push the base flat against the vehicle seat back.
- Press the load leg release button and extend it until the foot is firmly on the floor, locking it in the first hole that holds it firmly (lift the base slightly if needed).
- If the carrier will be next to a door or panel, extend the side-impact protection (L.S.P.) on that side.
Check it before you drive
- Green indicators show when the Rigid LATCH connectors are attached.
- The base should not move more than 1 inch (2.5 cm) at the belt path; 'walk' it tighter by pushing toward the vehicle center and then the door until each clicks.
- The recline must still be in the range for your child's weight after installing; if not, remove the base, adjust and reinstall.
Retold from Cybex manual (PDF). Your vehicle's manual also says which seats have LATCH anchors. When in doubt, a certified child passenger safety technician can check your install.
The carrier on and off the base
Clicking it onto the base
- Make sure the handle is locked.
- Lift the carrier by the handle and tip the front end down onto the base.
- Press the carrier onto the base until you hear a click.
- Lift up on the carrier to check it is locked on.
- If the carrier sits next to a car door or side panel, pull out the side impact protector (L.S.P.) on that side.
The maker warns: Always keep the handle locked while the seat is used in a car.
Taking it off the base
- If you pulled out the side impact protector (L.S.P.), push it back in.
- Squeeze the base/stroller release button.
- Lift the carrier off the base, holding the handle only when it is locked in the carrying position.
The maker warns: Check the handle is locked in the carrying position before lifting by it; an unlocked handle can move and the baby could fall out.
