Will parts move between models?

Used or passed down
Check these before the first ride.
When does the car seat expire?
- Stop using the Mint Latch 7 years after you bought it. If you don't know the purchase date, count from the manufacture date on the seat. Joie manual (PDF)
- base AR also has a 7-year life from purchase. If the purchase date is unknown, use the manufacture date on the base. Joie manual (PDF)
How do I hear about a recall?

Everyday use: car seats (harness, handle, base)
Common Joie problems and the maker's answers
- Stop using the seat right away.
- Contact Joie for replacement parts (US consumer service: 1-866-798-7866, info.us@joiebaby.com).
- Check regularly that everything on the seat works properly.
- Dirt in the harness adjustment button and strap can stop the harness from holding; Joie says to clean them.
- Take the fabric off the front of the seat to reach the adjustment button.
- Push down the lever on the back of the button to open it, and pull the strap out a little to loosen debris.
- Brush it clean with a soft nylon brush, or use a vacuum, damp cloth or flat plastic edge. Never use a sharp or metal tool.
- Test the harness, put the fabric back on, and test again.
- Rinse the buckle and chest clip by hand in warm water only, then let them air dry.
- Do not use soap, solvents or lubricants on the buckle or chest clip; Joie says they can make them malfunction.
- Wipe the harness and LATCH straps with a soft damp cloth and mild detergent.
- Do not soak or saturate the harness or LATCH straps.
- For the seat pads, follow the washing and drying instructions on the care label sewn to the fabric.
- Do not try to remove the foam or tape under the seat pad.
- Clean the shell, base and foams with mild detergent, water and a soft cloth, then air dry.
- Never use bleach or other harsh chemicals anywhere on the seat.
- Stop using the seat 7 years after the original purchase date.
- If you don't know when it was bought, count from the manufacture date printed on the seat.
- After that date, stop using it and dispose of it.
- The infant seat attaches to Joie strollers either with adapters or on the stroller's armbar.
- Joie includes the adapters with its strollers, so you should not need to buy them separately.
- On the plastic parts, use a damp cloth with a little pH-neutral soap if needed.
- Do not soak, hose down or power wash the seat.
- Do not use chemical disinfectants; Joie suggests setting the seat in sunlight briefly instead.
- Keep sun exposure short, since long exposure can fade and weaken the materials.
- Joie gear has a 1-year warranty from the day it was purchased.
- Before contacting Joie, have your sales receipt or proof of purchase, the model number and the serial number ready.
- If a defect is found within the warranty period, Joie decides whether to repair or replace the product at no cost to you.
