Bernadette and Charlotte de Geyter's creative vision for their Fall 2026 collection is a delightful fusion of playful fashion and cinematic storytelling. The Antwerp-based design duo has crafted a captivating short film, titled 'The Hostess', to accompany their latest collection, offering a unique glimpse into their design process and the personalities that inspire them.
The film, set in a stately home, showcases a group of women preparing to host a party, providing the perfect backdrop for the de Geyter sisters' imaginative exploration of their collection's characters. 'We love the diversity of our characters,' says Charlotte de Geyter, highlighting the collection's range, from an ample, crisp poplin white shirt with tone-on-tone embroidery to a more fitted, fluid, and girly version, both embodying different aspects of their design philosophy.
The younger de Geyter sister takes the lead in designing the collection's prints, with allover delphinium spurs adorning a caftan, a satin evening gown, and a chiné hydrangea print evoking a winter garden. The floral theme extends to roses and cherry blossoms, with a playful twist of juicy berries embroidered onto gowns and delicate velvet evening pouches. The collection introduces new shoe shapes, including higher-heeled styles and hand-embroidered silk pumps.
Cozy knits receive a floral makeover, from an intarsia-motif sweater paired with a fuchsia silk evening gown to a ribbed khaki cardigan with appliqué embroideries, designed to be worn with a taffeta mid-length skirt adorned with bows. Signature ribbon details add a touch of whimsy to bright pink pajamas and crushed velvet dresses, emphasizing the waist and shoulders.
The collection's signature gingham silhouettes, with a modern twist, such as an asymmetric shoulder or knitted reinterpretations, offer a contemporary update to a nostalgic wardrobe, paying homage to old-world glamour.
